Statement of Faith
  1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God
    (2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:21).
  2. We believe that there is one true God, infinitely perfect and eternally existing as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    (Deut 6:4; Ps 90:2; Matt 5:48; 28:18-20; 2 Cor 13:13)
  3. We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary and atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension, and future second coming.
    (John 1:1; 10:30; Luke 2:52; Gal 4:4; Matt 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; 1 Pet 2:21-22 [Isaiah 53:9]; 2 Cor 5: 21; Heb 4:15; 7:26-27; Matt 28:6; Luke 24:1-52; Acts 1:9-11; 2 Thess 1:7-10)
  4. We believe that all persons, though deserving of respect because they have been made in the image of God, are sinful, alienated from God, and in need of salvation.
    (Gen 1: 26-27; Ps 8:4-8; Rom 3:10, 23; Eph 2:1-3; Col 1:21)
  5. We believe that eternal salvation, in which individuals are reconciled to God and declared righteous before Him, comes only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was raised, and continues to make intercession for us before God the Father.
    (Acts 13:38-39; 4:10-12; John 3:16; Eph 2:8-9; Rom 3:22-24; 2 Cor 5:21; Heb 4:15-16)
  6. We believe that all regenerate persons, though freed from the dominion of sin, must continue to grow in Christlikeness by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
    (Gal 5:16-18, 22-26; Eph 4:30-32; 5:18; John 16:12-14)
  7. We believe that the saved will be resurrected to an eternal life of fellowship with God, while unregenerate persons will be raised to an existence of eternal separation from God and punishment.
    (John 3:17-18; Matt 25:46; 1 Cor 3:10-15; 1 John 5:10-13; Rev. 20:11-15)
  8. We believe that the universal church, which is the body of Christ and of which Christ is the ruling Head, is composed of all believers, who through Christ have equal access to God the Father regardless of ethnicity, gender, or social class.
    (Eph 1:22-23; 1 Cor 12:12-13; Gal 3:28; Col 3:11)
Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

We believe that Scripture makes no distinction between biological sex and gender. God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male (man) or female (woman), objectively determined by genetics and/or physiology present by or before birth, but with equal personal dignity. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27). Rejection of ones biological sex, including any and all attempts to physically change, alter, or disagree with their predominant biological sex, including but not limited to elective sex-reassignment, transvestite, transgender, or non-binary “genderqueer” acts or conduct, is therefore a rejection of the image of God within that person.

We believe that the term marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, rape, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10).

We believe that Scripture grants two life-enhancing options for human sexual behavior: (1) the “one flesh” marital union of one man and one woman, and (2) celibacy. Either is a gift from God, given as He wills for His glory and the good of those who receive and rejoice in His gift to them. Celibacy and faithful singleness is therefore celebrated and affirmed at Quiet Pastures at Green Oak.

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11).

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the beliefs and values of Quiet Pastures at Green Oak.

Statement on Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Ps 139).
